Alec Cheyne

Alexander George ' Alec ' Cheyne ( born April 28, 1907 in Glasgow; † 5 July 1983) was a Scottish football player and coach.

Career

The center forward started his football career at FC Aberdeen 1925. 1930 he moved to Chelsea for the then club record fee of € 8,800 internal. Cheyne initially could not prevail in England, so he moved in 1923 to Nîmes Olympique in France. From 1932 to 1934 Cheyne returned once more to Chelsea. After only nine games in two years, he ended his career and was from 1949 to 1955 coach of FC Arbroath. Internationally, he played five times for Scotland and scored four goals.
