Aleida Guevara

Aleida Guevara March ( born November 17, 1960 in Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban politician, a pediatrician and daughter of the famous Argentine- Cuban revolutionary Ernesto " Che " Guevara and his second wife Aleida March de la Torre.

Life

Aleida Guevara was born in 1960 in Havana, where she still lives today. Her father is Cuban revolutionary and folk hero Che Guevara. Her mother, Aleida March, was a member of the July 26 Movement. Aleida Guevara March is the oldest of the four children of the couple Guevara March. Her siblings are:

  • Camilo ( born May 20, 1962 Cuban politician )
  • Celia ( born June 14, 1963; Cuban- Argentine marine biologist ) and
  • Ernesto ( born February 24, 1965, Cuban lawyer).

She has a half-sister from the first marriage of her father with the Peruvian economist Hilda Gadea (1924-1974): Hilda " Hildita " Beatriz Guevara Gadea (* February 15, 1956 in Mexico City, † 21 August 1995 in Havana ). Hilda and Hildita lived from 1959 in Havana. Che Guevara took Hildita regularly with his new family.

Aleida Guevara March is Full-time pediatrician in the William Soler Children's Hospital, she was formerly also in Angola, Ecuador and Nicaragua in use. She is a member and activist of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC ). For events and conferences abroad she represents this. She and her brother Camilo Guevara strive for close and casual relationship with the former leader Fidel Castro. According to his own statements it has " blind faith " to the Cuban government.

Guevara is the mother of two daughters.
