Hilda Gadea
Hilda Gadea Acosta ( born March 21, 1925 in Lima, Peru, † February 1974 in Havana, Cuba) was a Peruvian economist, official of the Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana ( APRA ), author and first wife of the Argentine- Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara (1928 -1967 ).
Life
Hilda Gadea comes from a wealthy middle-class family, was active in Peru but left early in youth organizations and fled after the coup by General Manuel Apolinario Odría Amoretti in October 1948 in the first guatemaltekiscche Embassy in Lima and later to Guatemala City. There she worked for the leftist government of President Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán, including the Instituto de Fomento a la Producción (Institute for Economic Development ).
In 1953, Hilda Gadea met in Guatemala the Argentine doctor Ernesto " Che " Guevara know. Between the more moderate left-wing radical Guevara Gadea and soon a lively political exchange of ideas developed. As a first good friend she helped him in finding a job and took care of the asthma attacks among sufferers. In February / March 1954 Gadea confessed her reluctant friend her love. May 1954 Guevara Guatemala had to leave because his visa had expired. Gadea and Guevara spent to bow out a few days together in the town of San Juan Sacatepéquez, around 30 kilometers north of Guatemala City, where it should be then came loud Guevara's records to the first night of love. With a hunger strike they could force their early release on July 26. She applied to the Peruvian embassy a passport but was denied her. While waiting for news from Lima, she invited the new rulers Castillo Armas in the presidential palace, where he assured her that she would, until a decision of the Peruvian authorities not pursued in Guatemala. Guevara was meanwhile in the Argentine embassy, where he had asked for asylum. Gadea attempts to visit him there failed. The end of August Guevara got the permission to leave the country in his native Argentina, but initially remained in Guatemala because he had made a plan to go to Mexico. Guevara Gadea finally found in their common hangout again.

With Guevara they continued to meet regularly until he accepted her offer to move in with her and her roommate in the apartment. In June 1955 Guevara met for the first time in his later Cuban comrade Raúl Castro, who should prepare the arrival of his brother still imprisoned in Cuba Fidel Castro in Mexico. Raúl soon became a friend of the couple.
In September 1955 Guevara Gadea and were married in Mexico City, there was February 15, 1956 their daughter Hilda " Hildita " Beatriz Guevara Gadea, born († August 21, 1995 in Havana ).
On November 25, 1956 Che Guevara broke out with a group of Cuban revolutionaries, the movement of the July 26 ( M-26 -7) to Fidel Castro to Cuba in order to fight there against the authoritarian regime of Fulgencio Batista, which on 1 January 1959 collapsed.
After the victory of the Cuban Revolution Gadea moved with her daughter to Cuba, where she lived until her death. Che Guevara lived at that time already with a comrade, Aleida March, along which he had met in October 1958 during the fighting in central Cuba. Gadea agreed to the divorce, so that Che Guevara March and were married on June 2, 1959.
Che Guevara should have his second wife for the sake of largely unnecessary contact with Gadea. Their daughter Hildita but he took regularly to his new family. In April 1965, Che Guevara went to the Congo to advance the revolution there, and then moved in 1966 to Bolivia, where he was assassinated on 9 October 1967 by the army.
