Alejandro FernÃ¡ndez

Alejandro Fernández ( born April 24, 1971 in Guadalajara) is a Mexican ranchera and Latin pop singer.

Biography

Like his famous father, Vicente Fernández, he also began with the traditional Mexican ranchera and mariachi music. As of 1992, he released albums regularly, he established himself in his home and had initial success over the country's borders. Five years and five albums later he moved into the Latin pop genre. After he had sung at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 with Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan song Puedes llegar, he produced together with the husband of singer Emilio Estefan and Kike Santander Album Me estoy Enamorando. It brought him international breakthrough. Even in the U.S. it could be placed in the official album charts and selling over a million copies. The album was leader of the Latin charts and with Si tu supieras, No se olvidar and En el jardin, a duet with Gloria Estefan, the album spawned three number-one songs in the Latin pop charts forth.

His next album Mi verdad was again a step back to traditional Mexican music and his old producer Pedro Ramírez. But he also got at the 2000 inaugural ceremony of the Latin Grammy award for Best Ranchera Album ( Mejor álbum de música ranchera ) and other nominations. At first he was able to not build on the great chart success, after all, he still has thus consolidated its popularity, however, and after three years it was even awarded in the USA with double - platinum. Besides singing career Fernandéz made 2004 a trip into the movie business. In the biopic Zapata - El sueño del héroe he played the lead role of Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata.

2005 Alejandro Fernández a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was awarded for his musical achievements.
