Aleksandr Ivannikov

Alexander Ivannikov (Russian Александр Иванников; born January 23, 1945 in Moscow) is a former Soviet ski jumper.

Career

Ivannikov, who started for Dynamo Moscow, made ​​his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament 1962 /63. After a 23rd place in Oberstdorf, he landed on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck surprisingly tenth. After his tour, he broke off, despite this good result in the port, it was only ranked 55 overall. A year later, at the Four Hills Tournament 1963/64, he started eighth on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf and tenth place in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, before the second behind the Finn Veikko Kankkonen reached his first and only podium in Innsbruck. After he again ersprang a good result with 14th place in Bischofshofen, he won all four competitions fourth in the overall standings.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, he was after his good performance tour with his only 19 years of the favorites and was also the youngest ski jumpers in the Soviet team. From the normal hill, however, he finished only 17th position at the end of the large hill jumped Ivannikov to a good sixth place.

At the Four Hills Tournament 1964/65 it was not possible Ivannikov to build on the previous tour. After he jumped only ranked 20 in Oberstdorf, he broke off the tour and landed thus only ranked 26th overall. The first time he played in all four events at the Four Hills Tournament 1965/66. But after a sixth place in Oberstdorf was the best result, it was only enough for 11th place overall. After a year break, he began 1967-1971 again in the Four Hills Tournament, but came on 15th place in the overall standings, which he reached at the Four Hills Tournament 1969/70, not addition. After the Four Hills Tournament 1970/71, which he finished in 17th overall, he finished a year later his playing career with the start at the Ski Flying World Championships 1972, in which he reached the 30th place in the individual flies.
