Alexander Ivanovich Laweikin (Russian Александр Иванович Лавейкин; * April 21, 1951 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is an engineer and former Soviet cosmonaut.

Training

After Alexander Laweikin 1974 successfully completed his engineering studies at the "Moscow State Technical University NEBauman " in Moscow, the designer was employed as a structural engineer for cosmic spacecraft at NPO Energia. On 1 December 1978 Laweikin was selected by the " National Commission between relevant local " in consultation with NPO Energia as an astronaut.

Space flights

In 1987 he flew on Soyuz TM -2 as a flight engineer of the first resident crew of space station Mir in space. There, the designer worked in three EVAs in the expansion of I with: On April 11, 1987, to remove debris from the docking port, on 12 and 16 June 1987, he installed a solar array with two solar cells.

From 1989 to 1994 was deputy commander of the cosmonaut Laweikin group of NPO Energia. In 1992 he was a member of the backup crew of Soyuz TM -15. Laweikin resigned on 28 March 1994 from the cosmonaut corps and left in April 1994 NPO Energia.
