Aleksandr Rogozhkin

Alexander Vladimirovich Rogozhkin (Russian Александр Владимирович Рогожкин; born October 3, 1949 in Leningrad, Soviet Union ) is a Russian film director and screenwriter.

Life and work

Rogozhkin first started studying art history at the State University of Saint Petersburg, which he finished in 1972 with a diploma. Since 1971 he has worked as Artistic Director at the Leningrad television, followed by a three- year tenure ( 1974-1977 ) as a set designer in the Lenfilm studios. He also studied painting and graphics at the Leningrad Pedagogical Institute. In 1982, he completed his education at the Moscow Film School ( WGIK ) with Sergei Gerasimov.

In 1985 he was made ​​his feature film debut with Just because of a few lines, but until the mid- 1990s, he was in his home country for the recognition with films like the comedy Peculiarities of the National Hunt and their successors.
