Aleksandrs ÄŒekulajevs

Aleksandrs Čekulajevs ( born September 10, 1985 in Riga, Russian Александр Чекулаев / Alexander Tschekulajew ) is a Latvian football player.

Career

Aleksandrs Čekulajevs began his professional career in his hometown at FK Riga, where he played his first season at the age of 21 years. In the first division, however, this could not convince, then Čekulajevs left the club at the end of the season and at FK Auda Riga signed, in which Čekulajevs was already active in youth. When Latvian second division presented the until then playing as a striker Čekulajevs with 51 goals in 30 games a new record for goals, he met, for example, against FK Abuls six times. At the end of the season he came to the club to third place behind the FK and SK Vindava Blāzma. At the start of the 2008 season changed Čekulajevs for FK Jurmala -VV from the Virsliga. After a brief stint in the Baltic Sea club, he moved to the Czech Republic to the local third division side FK Nachod - Destne before he again returned in 2009 for FK Jurmala.

In 2010 he went to Iceland to UMF Víkingur. Just one year later Čekulajevs moved to Estonia to JK Trans Narva. With the club he came straight away to the Cup Final against FC Flora Tallinn, which however has been lost with 0:2. In the league led the Latvian who in midfield was used in Trans Narva, on the table in the scorers throughout the season. So Čekulajevs achieved, for example, on the 15th match day 7-0 against FC Ajax Lasnamäe the first four goals. Already after 30 match days Čekulajevs scored his 42nd goal and surpassed the record from the 2005 season of Tarmo Neemelo, who had at the end of the season had 41 goals on the account. Through his scoring prowess, the Lette wanted to recommend for other foreign clubs in Scandinavia, Belgium and Germany. At the end of the 2011 season Čekulajevs came on 46 goals. Then he was invited, among others, in November 2011, the German second division club MSV Duisburg on trial. On 8 February 2012, he finally signed initially for one season a contract with Maltese champions, FC Valletta. With the club he could defend the championship from the previous year at the end of the season. Čekulajevs left Malta already back in the summer and moved to Hungary to FC Lombard Papa.
