Alessandro Bianchi (politician)

Alessandro Bianchi ( born January 28, 1945 in Rome ) is an Italian politician and author. From 17 May 2006 to 8 May 2008, he was Transport Minister in the second cabinet of Romano Prodi.

Bianchi studied engineering at the University of Rome La Sapienza. After his successful graduation, he was university lecturer. Since 1999 he has been rector of the University of Reggio Calabria. He has published several technical books.

Bianchi is a member of the Partito dei Comunisti Italiani ( PdCl ), a small Communist Party. Previously, he had been a member for years of the PCI.
