Alessandro Mazzinghi

Sandro Mazzinghi ( born October 3, 1938 in Pontedera ) was an Italian boxer in the Light Middleweight and former world champion by the WBC and WBA version, as well as European champion.

After the first 16 victories in the professional career Sandro Mazzinghi ran against Giampaolo Melis. After Mazzinghi points lost. On September 7, 1963 Mazzinghi fight against Ralph Dupas for the WBC and WBA world light middleweight championship. Sandro won the fight by technical knockout in the ninth round, as well as direct rematch also by technical knockout in round 13 After three successful title defenses and non-title fights 8 wins in Mazzinghi fighting on 18 June 1965 against Nino Benvenuti. This fight won Benvenuti by knockout in the sixth round. The rematch Mazzinghi lost on points.
