Alessandro Rolla

Alessandro Rolla ( born April 22, 1757 Pavia, † September 15, 1841 in Milan ) was an Italian violinist and composer.

Life

Rolla was a long time as music director at La Scala as well as a teacher at the Conservatory in Milan working.

Alessandro Rolla is the father of Antonio Rolla.

Works

He published quartets, solo and study works both for violin and for viola, which are characterized by advantageous opportunity of the content and form completion before many other works of this genre. Rolla's rare violin concertos received by the specially composed cadenzas by Massimo Paris a new relevance.
