Alex Kipchirchir

Alex Kipchirchir Rono (born 26 November 1984 relating to Sergoit at Eldoret, Rift Valley Province) is a Kenyan middle distance runner.

Kipchirchir began with the Running of the Litein High School, where he also played football, hockey and basketball. After he had to stop his schooling in 2001, he was presented by a football comrades of the former 10,000 - meter champion Moses Tanui, in the training camp, he coached 2002. In July this year he won at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Kingston ( Jamaica) in the 800 meters in 1:46,59 min.

On July 7, 2003, he presented with 3:50,25 min a junior world record in the mile run, which, lasted until 3 July 2009, when he was broken by William Biwott Tanui.

Two years later he made the leap into the world's top adult class. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he was more than 1500 m in 3:40,43 min seventh.

In March 2006 he won at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne 800m in 1:45,88 min. In August, followed at the Track Championships in Africa Bambous the double victory over 800m ( 1:46,62 min) and 1500m ( 3:46,54 min).
