Alex Winter

Alexander Ross Winter ( born July 17, 1965 in London) is a British- American actor, director and screenwriter. He became best known for the role of Bill S. Preston appeared in the 1989 film Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey through time.

Career

Winter was born in 1965 as the son born in New York American Gregg Mayer and the Australian Ross Albert Winter. Since his parents were successful dancer, he first learned also the dancing. When he was five years old, the family emigrated to Missouri.

In 1978 he went to New York and began working as an actor. In 1983 he was accepted to the film school at New York University. Meanwhile, he spent many years on Broadway and played small roles in The King and I, Peter Pan and the U.S. premiere of Simon Gray's Close of Play.

After graduating from New York University, he moved along with his friend Tom Stern to Hollywood, where the two a number of short films and music videos written and performed in these also directed. Winter again found work as an actor and received larger roles in the films The Lost Boys and Rosalie Goes Shopping. In 1989, he got international notoriety when he crazy journey into the future embodied the two main roles along with Keanu Reeves in the comedy Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey through time and its 1991 sequel Bill & Ted's published.

After these successes Winter and his creative staff Tom Stern and Tim Burns were hired to develop a sketch comedy show for MTV. The result was the 1991 released series, The Idiot Box, which was a success for the station but had to be discontinued after six episodes due to financial problems. Winter, star and Burns accepted a 12 - million dollar contract by 20th Century Fox to produce their own film. This was published in 1993 under the title Freaked. Through many positive reviews, including by The New York Times, Freaked became a cult film and was named by Entertainment Weekly as one of the ten best comedies of the 1990s.

Then he paused. In 1999 he returned to the film business. He directed the psychological thriller Fever. The film was at festivals including Cannes, performed worldwide.

Then worked alternately winter in America and London. He produced music videos and commercials, such as the Thelma - and -Louise campaign for Peugeot, some campaigns for Ford, one for Kellogg's Frosties and excellent spots for Supercuts and prices by Google in the USA.

After 14 -year break, the winter of 2007 returned as an actor back to the canvas. He played a guest role in Bones - The Knochenjägerin. He currently works as a voice actor for King Mole Man in Saul of the Molemen, which was produced by his long-time friend Tom Stern and is listed on Adult Swim in America.
