Alexander Brailowsky

Alexander Brailowsky ( born February 16, 1896 in Kiev, † April 25, 1976 in New York) was a Russian pianist who specialized in the works of Frédéric Chopin. His greatest successes came between the two world wars.

Brailowsky was born in Kiev and later adopted in 1926 a French citizen.

He celebrated his concert debut in Paris 1919. His first recordings were made in Berlin from 1928 to 1934. In 1938, it HMV in London under contract. In addition to his Chopin repertoire, he also played works by Rachmaninoff, Saint- Saens, Liszt, Debussy and others.

Alexander Brailowsky died in New York at the age of 80 years.
