Alexander Garden

The Alexander Garden (Russian Александровский сад - Alexandrovski sad ( pronunciation / i)? ) Is adjacent to the Kremlin and Red Square public park in the historic center of the Russian capital Moscow. It is located directly on the approximately 865 -meter-long north-western portion of the Kremlin wall. In the middle of the garden is spanned by an old bridge that leads from the Kutafya tower over the Troitskaya Tower in the Kremlin. Right next door is the entrance to the metro stations and Biblioteka imeni Lenina Alexandrovski Sad. At its northern end of the Alexander Garden is adjacent to the Manege Square.

The Alexander Garden was laid out in the years 1819 to 1823 according to the designs of the Russian- Italian architect Joseph Bové, after the bed of the hitherto along the Kremlin wall flowing Moskwa Creek Neglinnaja had been diverted for reasons of hygiene and flood protection in an underground channel.
