Alexander Juhan

Alexander Juhan (* 1765 in Charleston / South Carolina, † 1845) was an American pianist, composer and conductor.

About life Juhans, one of the oldest born in North America composers, little is known. He came to Philadelphia in 1783, where he held a series of subscription concerts with Alexander Reinagle, Henri Capron and William Brown. 1787 was a benefit concert held in his favor, in which George Washington was present, and he performed a piano sonata for four hands by Joseph Haydn with Reinagle. 1792 published six sonatas for piano or harpsichord Juhans in pressure.
