Alexander Kucharsky

Alexander Kucharski, also Aleksander Kucharski ( born March 18, 1741 Warsaw, † November 5, 1819 in Paris) was a Polish painter who worked mainly in France.

In his youth Kucharski Page was the Polish King Poniatowski and then learned the craft of painting in the studio of Marcello Bacciarelli. After that he went to Paris and studied from 1760 to 1769 with Joseph -Marie Vien and Carle van Loo at the Académie royale. From 1776 to 1778 Kucharski was in the wake of the Prince of Condé.

Kucharski became a very valued by the Polish and French aristocracy portrait painter. He painted, inter alia, Portraits of Marie Antoinette and her children, and of Catherine the Great.

His tomb is in the cemetery Père Lachaise, Division 1
