Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Yalta

The Alexander Nevsky Church in the Ukrainian health resort of Yalta by the architects Nikolai Krasnov (1864-1939), who later also the Livadia Palace built, and Plato Terebenjew was built on a hillside and is one of the most important churches of the region. Construction began in 1891, ten years after the assassination of the Tsar Alexander II and in memory of him, Nevsky was regarded as the patron of Alexander; The building was completed in 1902. The consecration of the church, in which the former Tsar Nicholas II and Alexandra Fyodorovna pair was present, followed on 5 December of the same year.

Like other Alexander Nevsky Church was named after the Russian National Saint Alexander Nevsky Yaroslavich also. The church, built in Russian style is richly decorated and has a white facade and golden onion domes. Various works of art decorate the church, so there is on the outside, for example, a wall niche with a portrait of Alexander Nevsky and inside a mosaic Nevsky.
