Alexander Tschirch

Wilhelm Oswald Alexander Tschirch ( born October 17, 1856 in Guben, † December 2, 1939 in Bern ) was a pharmacist and professor of pharmacy in Bern. The focus of his work were studies of Pharmacognosy, to plant anatomy, studies on Anthrachinonglycoside and contributions to drug testing.

  • 1890-1932 Professor of Pharmacy and Pharmacognosy in Bern

Work

In Bern to Tschirch dedicated with great commitment to the research and collection of resins and other plant extracts. It was a great collection of these substances and be applicable at the time the standard work book The resins and the resin container with inclusion of milk juices ( second and enlarged edition 1906, 1268 pages).
