Alexander Yunkov

Alexander Jurjewitsch Junkow (Russian Александр Юрьевич Юнков; born November 21, 1982 in the Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2012 at Amur Khabarovsk in the Kontinental Hockey League contract. His brother Mikhail is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Alexander Junkow began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the HK Dynamo Moscow, for its second team, he was active in the third-class Perwaja League from 1998 to 2000. From 1999 to 2002, the attacker Wysschaja League, the second Russian league, for THK Tver and ZSK WWS Samara was active. In the season 2002/ 03 he was also in five games for his former club Dynamo Moscow in the Super League on the ice. In the 2003 / 04 season, he ran for the HK Liepaja Metalurgs parallel to the East European Hockey League and in the Latvian Hockey League.

The 2004/05 season spent Junkow at second division Vityaz Chekhov, with the he managed to climb into the Super League. In addition, he appeared in this season to two times for Chimik Woskressensk in the Super League. In the following years he was ever a season long at HK Spartak Moscow Severstal Cherepovets and under contract. For the period 2007-2009 the Russians returned to Spartak Moscow, which was added to the 2008/09 season in the newly formed Continental Hockey League. Opposite end of the season he was bound by domestic rivals Spartak Amur Khabarovsk, for whom he played until November 2010. After a brief involvement with the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk Junkow returned to Spartak Moscow.

Since May 2012 Junkow is back at Amur Khabarovsk under contract.
