Alexandra Bircken

Alexandra Bircken (born 1967 in Cologne) is a German installation artist and object. They used different materials, often wood, wool, leather, metals, plaster, stone, and everyday items for your work.

"(...) Your objects and installations are fragments that point as a section on something larger, and in shifting the combination of natural materials our view of reality. Bircken scenarios are open stages which reflect the ambivalent relationship of man to nature and culture. "

Bircken studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, 1990-91 Art, 1991-95 fashion design and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts ( First Class Honours ) from. In 2004 she received a scholarship from the Atelier Cologne Kunstverein.

Alexandra Bircken lives and works in Cologne.
