Alexandre da Silva Mariano

Alexandre da Silva Mariano, also known as Amaral ( born February 28, 1973 in Capivari ) is a Brazilian footballer.

The defensive midfielder began his career at SE Palmeiras, where he was able to immediately celebrate his first successes. In his first season in 1993, he won the Brazilian championship here, the state championship of São Paulo and the Torneo Rio - São Paulo. In the following season could defend both the Brazilian championship and the state championship.

After a rather disappointing 1995 season in which Palmeiras won no title, Amaral moved to Parma in the Serie A, but here he could not enforce. Therefore, he moved at the end of the season to Benfica. For the 1999 season Amaral returned again back to Brazil where he played for Corinthians. Hence the success returned because Corinthians won the 1999 Brazilian Championship, the National Championship of São Paulo and the Torneo Rio - São Paulo.

Nevertheless Amaral joined at the end of the season to Rio de Janeiro to CR Vasco da Gama. This change proved to be spot on, because Vasco won in the 2000 season, the Brazilian championship, the Copa Mercosur and Copa Guanabara. In the 2000 /01 season Amaral ventured again ventured abroad and moved to Fiorentina in the Serie A, 2000/ 01 he won the Coppa Italia, but said he has seen only two appearances in the Coppa.
