Alexandre Ganoczy

Alexandre Ganoczy (actually: Sándor Gánóczy; born December 12, 1928 in Budapest) is a Hungarian Catholic theologian and dogmatists, who worked as a university teacher in Germany and France. He lives in Dauphin, Alpes -de -Haute -Provence.

Life

Sándor Gánóczy studied theology in Budapest, Paris and Rome, and in 1953 he became his priestly ordination in the diocese of Esztergom and worked there then nine years as workers and chaplains. He received his doctorate in 1963 at the Pontifical Gregorian University. From 1967 he taught at the University of Münster at the Chair of dogmatics. In 1969 he received his doctorate in philosophy at the Sorbonne. In 1972 he was appointed Professor of Dogmatic Theology in Würzburg, where he remained until his retirement in 1996, he also was a professor at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

From 1978 to 1990 Ganoczy was a member of the Ecumenical Working Group of Protestant and Catholic theologians in Germany and served as a consultant in the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

In his theology of creation, he seeks a dialogue with the natural sciences, and incorporates insights from the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, evolutionary theory and the chaos theory in his considerations a.

Ganoczy became first known for his work on John Calvin.

In Germany, France, Hungary, and also in the English- speaking world, a large number of books, journal articles and reviews of it have been published.
