The University " Alexandru Ioan Cuza " Iasi ( rumän. Universitatea " Alexandru Ioan Cuza " Iaşi ) is located in the Romanian city of Iasi and was named after Alexandru Ioan Cuza.
History
The university was opened on 26 October 1860. First, there were only three faculties: law, philosophy and theology. The theological faculty was set 1864-1933.
After a Training Act of 5 December 1864, the university was restructured: there was the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, the Faculty of Science, from 1937 developed the Polytechnic School Iaşi, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine that actually since 1879 was in operation, but was spun off in 1948 as henceforth independent institute.
International cooperation
There is a partnership with the University of Augsburg and the University of Konstanz.
