Alexandru Mesian

Alexandru Mesian ( born January 22, 1937 in Baia Mare, Romania) is a bishop of the Romanian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Lugoj.

Life

Alexandru Mesian was born in 1937 in the Romanian town of Baia Mare. For priests Mesian was, at the age of 25 years, ordained on May 8, 1965. On July 20, 1994, at the age of 57 years, initially he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Lugoj, on September 8, 1994, the solemn consecration to him by Metropolitan Lucian Mureşan as principal consecrator, in the presence of co-consecrators, the bishops and Ioan Gheorghe Guţiu Ploscaru, was donated.

Since 20 November 1995, Alexandru Mesian enthroned Bishop of Lugoj. Mesian took as Mitkonsekrator at the ordinations of Joan Şişeştean and Mihai Frăţilă liturgical part.
