Alexei Mordashov

Alexei Alexandrovich Mordaschow (Russian Алексей Александрович Мордашов; born September 26, 1965 at the North Russian Cherepovets ) is a Russian entrepreneur. He is the CEO of the company Severstal and General Director of Severstal Group. The business magazine Forbes estimated his fortune in the spring of 2008 to 21.2 billion dollars.

Biography

Until 1988 Mordaschow studied at the Leningrad Togliatti - School of Business and Technology. There he met the later Russian Prime Minister Anatoly Chubais know who taught at that university at that time.

After graduating Alexei Mordaschow took a job at Tscherepowezer Metallurgical Combine. There he worked in the administration and later rose to deputy director of the Policy Planning Staff.

1992, in the early days of privatization of Russian state-owned enterprises, Mordaschow was economic and financial director of the metallurgical combine, which was converted soon afterwards in the joint stock company OAO Severstal.
