Severstal
Severstal (Russian Северсталь to North German steel) is a Russian metallurgy companies headquartered in Cherepovets. The company is listed on the RTS Index and the London Stock Exchange. Severstal is the second largest steel producer in Russia and No. 15 in the world. According to information from BMW, Ford and Mercedes are among its largest customers.
Severstal was founded in 1955 from the Tscherepowezer iron and steel plant. While the privatization of Russian state-owned companies acquired in 1993 Alexei Mordaschow, the former finance director of the farm, a large part of the company's shares.
