Gazprom Neft

Gazprom Neft (Russian Газпром нефть until June 2006: Russian Sibneft Сибнефть ) is the fifth largest oil company in Russia, with headquarters in Moscow. Gazprom Neft is listed on the RTS index. The company was founded in 1995.

Sibneft has repeatedly tried to merge with the company Yukos. In October 2005, Sibneft was taken over by Gazprom; the majority in Sibneft was until then a group of Roman Abramovich. He sold his shares for $ 13.1 billion. The company's name was changed in June 2006 Gazprom Neft.

Gazprom Neft is one of the twenty largest oil producers in the world.
