Alexey Andreyevich Khovansky

Alexei Andreyevich Chowanski (Russian Алексей Андреевич Хованский; * 1814 in Pensa; † January 29, 1899 in Voronezh ) was a Russian publisher of the first Russian language scientific journal Filologitscheskije Sapiski issued by their own means. This magazine he headed for 40 years. In recognition of his service to the Russian language, he was appointed Knight of the Order of Saint Anne and the Order of St. Vladimir.
