The Chowanski Foundation ( Chowanski funds) is the oldest Russian Foundation for the award and support the best teachers. It is funded from private donations from citizens and associations.

Motto

History

The Foundation was established in Voronezh to Chowanskis death in 1899 and wrote an annual award of for the best teacher. She stood in the year 1917 their activities and the publication of its magazine Filologitscheskije Sapiski. The Chowanski Fund was reconstituted on the occasion of the 110th anniversary on 4 November 2009, again to promote and, teachers and publishers and support.

The Foundation conducts research in the fields of comparative linguistics, comparative mythology, local history, cultural anthropology, social psychology, psycholinguistics and semiotics.

Awards

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Alexei Chovanski a new medal to award the German teacher, and a drawing to award the teaching and creative teams were introduced by the Foundation.

Figure

The figure and its design were created by the sculptor Maxim Voronezh Dikunov in two versions: for teachers and editors. The figure was named " Alexy ".

Medal
