Alexey Pajitnov

Alexei Leonidovich Paschitnow (Russian Алексей Леонидович Пажитнов, often in the English spelling Alexey Pajitnov, born 1956 ) is a Russian programmer who currently lives in the United States.

Together with Dmitry Pavlovsky and Vadim Gerasimov he invented in 1984 during his work at the Moscow Academy of Sciences of the popular computer game Tetris. Since the game was officially expelled from the Soviet Union, Pajitnov got nothing from the revenue that earned the game. In 1991 he emigrated to the USA and founded by Henk Rogers, the Tetris Company, where he developed more games in the style of Tetris. From late 1996 to 2005, he worked for the company Microsoft.
