Alf-Gerd Deckert

Alf -Gerd Deckert ( born July 4, 1955 in Halle ( Saale) ) is a former German cross-country skiers He was several times GDR champion and launched the only East German cross-country skiers at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. There was his best finish of 9th place about 30 km away. He also took over 15 km Place 37 and 50 km in 26th place after the Olympics, he finished his active career.

Alf -Gerd Deckert is the older brother of the ski jumper Manfred Deckert. He was married to the Olympic swimming champion Petra Thümer.
