Alfonso Vallejo

Alfonso Vallejo ( born 1943 in Santander, Cantabria, Spain ) is a Spanish neurologist and professor of medical pathology in Madrid. As a playwright and poet, he published 33 plays and 20 books of poetry. His plays have been performed in Europe, the United States and South America. His works have been translated into French, German, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese and Bulgarian. In addition, he is active as a painter.

Life

Alfonso Vallejo completed his school education from 1950-1961 with the French Baccalauréat and the Spanish Bachillerato at the Liceo Francés in Madrid.

In 1958 he stayed in Ushaw Moor (Durham, UK), 1962 in Darlington (England) and in 1963 in London. Then also spent some time in France, Germany, Great Britain and Italy, because who could speak these languages.

Between 1961 and 1966 he studied medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. There, ended the his studies and went in 1968 because of the ECFMG in the United States. In the USA, Vallejo specializes in neurology. In 1977 he received his doctorate at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid as a doctor of medicine.

Medical career

In the years 1971 to 1973 Vallejo was an assistant with the neurologist at the Hospital Clinico Portera in Madrid. In 1973 he became Head of Clinical Neurology at one of the leading hospitals.

Between 1975 and 1985 he was an associate professor of neurology at the Universidad Complutense. In 1985 he received the title of professor of medical pathology. These positions he perceives in the same hospital.

During his stay abroad, between 1966 to 1977 he worked with a number of renowned specialists in Heidelberg, London, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Berlin and Paris.

Artistic Career

His first play was "Cycle " (1961 ), which was aufführte in 1963 with French actors at the French Institute in Madrid. From 1962 to 1964 he was the Director of the University Theatre at the medical school at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. In 1961 and 1982 he wrote, inter alia, the pieces: " La Sal de la tierra ", " El Bernardo ", " La Mentala ", " El Rodrigüello ", " Morituri ", " Los Toros de Guisando ", " El Tiznao ", " El desterrado ", " El Bernardo, "" La Mentala "," El Rodrigüello "," Morituri " ( " We are about to die, "), the bull of Guisando, " Passion -time " (in French) (1974 ), " Night syndrome " (1980 ) " Angustias " (1981), " Mamuts " (1982).

Some of his works have been translated into English, French, German, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Bulgarian. These plays were performed in New York, Miami, Mexico and other South American countries as well as in Portugal, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and other countries.
