Alfred Bieler

Alfred " Fredy " Bieler ( born April 18, 1923 in St. Moritz, † April 24, 2013 in Zurich ) was a Swiss ice hockey player.

Career

Fredy Biel participated for the Swiss national team at the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in St. Moritz, where he won the bronze medal with his team. During the tournament he scored five goals in five games and three assists. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1950 and 1951, where he also won the bronze medal each. As the best European team Switzerland became European champion in 1950. Fredy Bieler graduated 53 international matches for Switzerland, scoring 60 goals. At club level he played from 1942 to 1953 for the Zürcher SC with which he was Swiss champion in 1949. He was in the forties and fifties to the changing formations of Zurich's famous "he - storm ."

With his strike partner Heini Lohr of the Zürcher SC, he moved later to the management of computational Maschinenfabrik AG Precisa.
