Alfred J. Kwak is a cartoon series based on the music of Alfred Jodocus Kwak fable of the Dutch song composers Herman van Veen and from 1989 to 1991 originated in the Netherlands, Germany, Japan and Spain. Directed by Hiroshi Saitō (斉 藤 博).
The main character of the same name is a duck, an orphan ( parents' names: Anna and John Kwak ), has custody of the mole Henk adopted. Henk is Alfred's foster father, but also his friend and advisor. All figures in the series are anthropomorphized animals.
The series was first broadcast in Germany in 1990 in ZDF and won many awards, including the Golden Camera 1990, the magazine Hörzu for the best children's program.
Parts of the series were used in 2006 in the visualized Linz Cloud of Sound, which was implemented under the leadership of Herman van Veen.

Prehistory
In the early summer of that year not to Henk and John Kwak, the father of Alfred meet. Henk makes him marry the proposal, which Johann, but rather enjoying his freedom, does not want to he met at once a duck named Anna. Both fall in love with each other, but John takes embarrassment to escape. In the later course of action both meet again and start a family. Alfred is the first of several siblings who immediately slips out of the egg and the world would like to explore. When he is captured again and is carried back to the nest, Henk makes his father the proposal to name the little ducklings Alfred because his grandfather was called so. Furthermore him the nickname Jodocus would still be good, because he was such a prowler. John agrees with this proposal. The duck family and lives happily with each other, begin to someday work for an amusement park in her home and the only forest section for the family is uninhabitable. Henk Johann makes the suggestion that the family but could go with him to the house of his grandfather. After some hesitation, John agrees to this proposal, since nothing better occurs to him. Thus, the family embarks on a journey. Alfred is always running away from the group, because there are on the way so many things that interest him. In a rainy night gewitterigen the entire family of ducks to cross a dangerous road. Alfred runs away again, but Henk runs after him. Meanwhile want to cross the road already the rest of the family. As Henk Alfred has finally recaptured both suddenly hear a loud bang and see a little later, disaster. John, Anna and Alfred's siblings, who were all nameless, were killed in this accident. Only the large wooden shoe, in which the family had their nest for the children is left. Driver of the car were Mr. Roko Dil and his business partner, the owner of the amusement park. Alfred and Henk eventually go on alone to the house of his grandfather on. Henk is Alfred's foster father and called Alfred therefore also jokingly referred to as "mole duck ".

Movie
In September 2012, it was announced that in 2013 a film by Herman van Veen will appear in theaters in which it is to go among other things, a son Kwaks. Van Veen commented, that now are stories for his grandchildren at the time.
Publications
DVD
The label ems in 2001 published the consequences 1-17 and 20 on six DVDs, each with three consequences. These DVDs are now only difficult to obtain.
2006 published 12 more DVDs with three episodes in which Disky label. Here the consequences of 1-5, 7-8, 11, 14-19, 26-32, 34-38, 40-44, 48-52 in a non- chronological order appeared. Twelve of these results were published already in the old series.
In October and December 2013 Universal Music has released on his label carousel four DVD box sets, each with 13 episodes. Thus for the first time all the episodes on DVD in Germany are available.
Radio plays
The company Carousel published the first season on 13 radio play cassettes, each with two episodes per tape. The consequences based largely on the audio track of the animated series. In addition, there are 5 more audio cassettes of the second season, which came only in a very small edition in trade and now have a very high collection value. These cassettes (episodes 14 to 18) contain two episodes per tape.
