Alfred Nijhuis

Alfred " Alf" Nijhuis ( born March 23, 1966 in Utrecht ) is a former Dutch football player.

Career

Nijhuis changed in 1991 on the recommendation of Bernard Dietz from the third division ASC Schöppingen the then newly promoted Bundesliga MSV Duisburg. In his first season he came to 33 appearances and five goals, but could not prevent the descent of the zebras. For the same in the following season, managed to rise again. Nijhuis, who was a robust and aerially strong Libero, remained until 1997, when MSV before moving into the Japanese J. League to the Urawa Red Diamonds for a transfer fee of 1.5 million D-Mark. After only a year he returned to Germany and stayed until his retirement in late 2001 with Borussia Dortmund.

After the career

After the end of the contract in Dortmund Alfred Nijhuis returned to his family returned to the Netherlands. July 1, 2012 Nijhuis took over the team from the current Westphalia division Pupils city payroll as a coach. He is also Germany scout from Ajax Amsterdam.
