Alfred Schild

Alfred plate ( born September 7, 1921 in Istanbul, † 24 May 1977 in Downers Grove, Illinois ) was a German - American physicist.

Sign attended a university in England. At the outbreak of World War II, he was interned as a German. Later he was allowed to go to Canada. He studied at the University of Toronto (BA 1944). In 1946 he received his doctorate with Leopold Infeld. 1947/1948 was sign as a post- doctoral fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study at Albert Einstein. He worked among others with exact solutions of General Relativity and worked at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, among others in the development of atomic clocks.
