Alfred Urbański

Alfred Urbanski (* January 13, 1899, † 10 September 1983) was a Polish politician and 1972-1976 Prime Minister of the Polish government in exile.

Life

The from the Polish nobility ( szlachta ) derived Urbanski worked after graduation as an economist.

As representatives of the Polish Socialist Party ( Polska Partia Socjalistyczna ) he belonged from 1969 to August 1972 beside Władysław Anders and Edward Raczyński the so-called Tripartite ( Rada Trzech ), who in 1954 was constituted after the exile President August Zaleski had refused to withdraw as promised. After the death of Zaleski on 7 April 1972, the Tripartite acknowledged his successor Stanisław Ostrowski exile as president and broke up then.

Urbanski was on 18 July 1972 as the successor of Zygmunt Muchniewski Prime Minister of the Polish government in exile. From this office he resigned on 15 July 1976, and was replaced in August of Kazimierz Sabbat.
