Alfred Vierkandt

Alfred Vierkandt ( born June 4, 1867 in Hamburg, † April 24, 1953 in Berlin) was a German sociologist, anthropologist, social psychologist, social and philosopher of history.

Vierkandt studied at the University of Leipzig, mathematics, physics, geography and psychology and completed his habilitation in 1894 in Braunschweig. In 1909 he was among the founders of the German Society for Sociology. From 1913 to 1934 he was Professor of Sociology at the Friedrich Wilhelm University in Berlin.
