Alfredo Battisti

Alfredo Battisti ( born January 17, 1925 in Masi, Padova, † January 1, 2012 in Udine ) was Archbishop of Udine.

Life

Alfredo Battisti received on 20 September 1947, the ordination. In 1951, he graduated in Rome with a degree in canon law. He was Cancellarius curiae to 1972 and Vicar General of the diocese of Padua.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 13 December 1972 Archbishop of Udine. The Bishop of Padua, Girolamo Bartolomeo Bortignon OFM Cap, donated to him on 25 February 1973, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Emilio Pizzoni, Auxiliary Bishop of Udine, and Giovanni Mocellini, Bishop of Adria. On 28 October 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related. Until the appointment of his successor on January 7, 2001, he was Apostolic Administrator in Udine.

They described him as bishop of the earthquake ( il vescovo del terremoto ); he was involved significantly after the earthquake of 1976 in the Italian region of Friuli Friuli- Venezia Giulia. In particular, the reconstruction of Rosazzo is allocated to it.

He died of a stroke.
