Algerian independence referendum, 1962
A referendum on the adoption of the Treaty of Evian was held in French Algeria on July 1, 1962.
It was followed by the adoption of the Convention in a French referendum in April 1962. The result was that 99.72 % of Algerians welcomed the agreements and 0.28 % were against. The turnout was 91.88 %. As a result of the adoption of the French colonial power in Algeria declared independence on 3 July.
