Ali Kordan

Ali Kordan (Persian علی کردان; * 1958 ();? † November 22, 2009 in Tehran ) was an Iranian politician. He was Vice - Minister of Petroleum and from August 4 to November 4, 2008 Interior Minister of his country.

Kordan was relieved by the Iranian parliament with 188 votes in favor, 45 votes against and 14 abstentions his office. The impeachment was initiated when it became known that Kordan an honorary doctorate, led to wrong by improper deed of June 2000, the prestigious Oxford University. The University of Oxford declared that Ali Kordan awarded an honorary doctorate from Oxford neither get nor have achieved an academic degree. Kordan said in a letter to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that he received the certificate through an intermediary through which he had also submitted his dissertation. " The question of the authenticity of the doctorate has never come into my mind ," says Kordan in the letter. Furthermore, it was announced that Kordan, who worked in Iran as a university professor, had completed according to him at the University of Tehran to study, the university in Tehran disagreed with this assertion. Ali Kordan died on November 22, 2009 from the effects of brain disease.
