Alicia Kirchner

Alicia Kirchner de Mercado ( born July 18, 1946) is an Argentine politician of the Peronist Party.

Life

Kirchner de Mercado is the sister of former President Néstor Kirchner and sister in law by the Acting President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Kirchner de Mercado studied at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad Nacional de General San Martín. After her studies she worked as a teacher and social worker. From 10 December 2005 to August 14, 2006, she was a Senator. Kirchner de Mercado counts as the successor of Juan Carlos Nadalich Minister for Social Development in Argentina since August 14, 2006.
