All India Football Federation

The All India Football Federation (AIFF ), the Football Association of the Republic of India. The association was founded on 23 June 1937 in Shimla at a meeting of representatives of six football associations. The founding members were the football associations of West Bengal, the then United Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand ), Bihar, Delhi, Mysore, the Army Sports Control Board, North West of India and the Bombay Presidency. The AIFF currently has 33 state associations from all over India.

The AIFF hosts several championships in India, including the I-League and by 2007 its predecessor, the National Football League and the Federation Cup. Furthermore, the AIFF organized the national teams of men and women and their junior teams.

A year after India's independence, became the AIFF member of the world governing body FIFA. 1954 it was a founding member of the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC). At the regional level, the Association member of the South Asian Football Federation.
