All-Union Film Festival

The Allunionsfilmfestival ( also briefly Allunionsfestival; Russian Всесоюзный кинофестиваль ) was one of the main national film festivals in the Soviet Union, which was usually held 1958-1988 at different locations in the main cities of the Soviet republics. Time and place of the festival were determined by Goskino and the Union of Filmmakers of the USSR. After the festival in the years 1958, 1959 and 1960, the film festival was held regularly until 1964 every two years, from 1972 on a yearly basis.

Prices were for directors, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers and sound engineers in the categories:

  • Feature film,
  • Documentaries, scientific and popular scientific films, newsreels
  • Children 's and Youth Film ( since 1977)
  • Animated Film ( since 1977)
