Allen Garfield

Allen Garfield Allen or Goorwitz ( born November 22, 1939 in Newark, New Jersey ) is an American actor.

Garfield was born the son of Alice and Philip Goorwitz in Newark. There he also graduated from high school. Before Garfield became an actor, he worked as a sports reporter and amateur boxer in the Golden Gloves. Together with Lee Strasberg and Elia Kazan, he studied at the Actors Studio in New York Acting. Before coming to television, he appeared on the stage. To date, he stepped in around 100 films and series as a corrupt businessman, Paranoid or politicians. He became famous especially with the films Beverly Hills Cop II, The State of Things and The Far Side of the World.

Garfield has also worked as a drama teacher. He taught, for example, Quentin Tarantino.
