Allenstown is a place in Merrimack County, New Hampshire in the United States.

History

The town's name comes from the Governor Samuel Allen of the 17th century. The town was founded in 1721 but officially registered only in 1831. On top of that Allenstown had to cede parts of the village area to the neighboring communities Bow and Hoohsett.

Bear Brook State Park

The "Bear Brook State Park," with approx 40 m² area one of the largest, placed under conservation parks in New Hampshire. He was named after the 16.1 km long river and offers a nature center and two museums, various recreational areas for visitors.
