Alliance Sociale

The Alliance Sociale is a leftist coalition alliance in Mauritius, which from the Labour Party, the Mauritian Party of Xavier -Luc Duval, the Movement Republicain -. The Green Way, the Republican Movement and the Mauritian Militant Socialist Movement

The Alliance was established in July 2005 after the election victory in Parliament on the date of 2000 to 2005, ruling coalition of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM ), and Militant Socialist Movement ( MSM) with the ruling party.

Chairman of the Alliance Sociale is the current Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, who has served in this office between 1995 and 2000. In the elections to the National Assembly in July 2005, she won 38 of 70 parliamentary seats and achieved in the elections in May 2010, 41 of the 62 seats.

Other leading politicians of the Alliance Sociale are Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Rashid Beebeejaun, who is also Minister of Energy and Public utility functions, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Arvin Boolell.
