Arvin Boolell

Arvin Boolell ( born May 26, 1953) is a politician from Mauritius.

Biography

Arvin Boolell is the son of Sir Satcam Boolell and cousin Anil Gayan, who were both also foreign minister of Mauritius. After schooling, he studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons of the National University of Ireland and acquired there the only in Ireland conferred Bachelor of Obstetrics ( BAO ) and the internationally recognized Bachelor of Medicine ( MB) and Bachelor of Surgery ( B.Ch. ). After graduating, he worked as a surgeon in Wales and New Zealand.

His political career began in 1987, when he became the candidate of the Workers' Party of Mauritius ( PTr ) was first elected a deputy of the National Assembly, in which he represented the constituency of 11 Rose Belle / Vieux Grand Port. In the elections of 1991, 1995, 2000 and 2005, he was in this constituency ( Constituency) each re-elected.
