Alliston

Alliston [ ælɪstən ] is a village in the Canadian province of Ontario. Alliston is located about 90 kilometers north- west of Toronto. Since its incorporation in 1991 Alliston is the administrative headquarters of the greater community of New Tecumseth in Simcoe County. Alliston has about 15,379 inhabitants ( 2011).

Alliston is divided by Highway 89. Three kilometers west Allistons is the Earl Rowe Provincial - Park, one of the largest provincial parks in southern Ontario.

History

In November 1847 the first house of Alliston by William Fletcher and his son built.
